The Danish Windmill

The Danish Windmill is an authentic windmill imported from Denmark. The windmill was built in 1848. Learn more about how it was brought to The Danish Villages and how windmills work by touring this special addition to our communities. The Danish Immigrant Museum
| The Danish Immigrant Museum takes you on a journey following the path that many immigrants took to the United States from Denmark. The Little Mermaid
| The Little Mermaid of Kimballton was sculpted out of fiberglass by a pair of California college students, and was installed in town in 1978. She was moved indoors every winter after the elements took their toll. In July 2008, The Little Mermaid was recast in bronze, allowing her to be visible all year long. She was rededicated, along with Mermaid Park's new fountain and landscaping, at the town's 125th anniversary celebration. |
Danish Countryside Vines and Wines

Danish Countryside Vines & Wines invites you to visit them at their farm. The winery is a completely renovated European style barn where they master creating their fine wines. Offering tours of the winery and vineyard, they share the process of making wine and explaining vitaculture practices. Taste a selection of Danish Countryside's wine on the balcony that overlooks the vineyard. Hours: Tuesday- Friday 10am-5:30pm, Saturday 10am- 5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm, Closed Monday. Bedstemor's Hus

Operated by The Danish Immigrant Museum, this authentic Danish Grandmother's house has been restored to its original 1908 Victorian period and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Open May 15- September 15. Hours: Monday- Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 1pm-4pm.

The Family History & Geneology Center

The research library of the Danish Immigrant Museum, this center offers translation and research services and has a significant collection of background materials. Tivoli Fest, The Danish Village's annual Danish celebration, is held Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy Danish foods and specialties such as smorrebrod, aebleskiver and medisterpolse. Tours of the Danish Windmill, Bedstemor's Hus, the Danish Immigrant Museum and visits to unique gift shops add to the experience. Including the annual Tivoli parade, Danish folk dancing, Tour de Tivoli, an entertainment stage and vendors, there is something for everyone!
